Photos and AI generation

Selecting or taking a photo does not itself send it to OpenAI. After you allow photo sharing and request a generation or retry, Snipster sends the selected photo through its backend to OpenAI to generate stickers. A smaller copy is also sent to OpenAI to suggest a pack name. Photos can contain personal information, including faces or text. Only choose photos you have permission to share.

The generation service processes images in memory and does not save photo files in its application database. Source photos, generated sheets, pack names and stickers are saved on your device. Stickers are also copied into a container shared with Snipster’s Messages extension. Device backups and copies you share may retain this content separately.

OpenAI may retain API inputs and outputs for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring, with longer retention for certain safety or legal reasons. OpenAI does not use API content to train its models by default. See OpenAI’s data controls for its retention rules and exceptions.

Your account and usage

Snipster creates an account automatically using a random device identifier rather than asking for your name or email. This identifier and authentication credentials are stored in the device Keychain and can survive reinstallation. The backend stores your device identifier, account identifier, purchase-service identifier, subscription information and generation counts and timestamps to authenticate requests, enforce allowances and operate the service. Account and generation records are kept while your account exists; the deletion controls and exceptions are described below. These identifiers are pseudonymous: they can link activity to the same account or device.

Purchases and service providers

Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat handles subscription validation and restoration using purchase records, an app-user identifier and information about your app and device. Snipster’s backend checks RevenueCat entitlements to determine your allowance. Snipster does not receive your full payment-card details. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy.

The backend and database infrastructure process requests and account data to provide Snipster. Operational logs may include IP addresses, request paths, response status, timing, error information and AI token usage for troubleshooting, security and cost monitoring. Snipster does not use this information for advertising or cross-app tracking.

Your choices and deletion

Photos are only sent when you start a generation, so you can stop future uploads by not generating. Stopping does not recall an upload already in progress or erase content already received by OpenAI, and your saved stickers keep working. Camera and photo-library access can be changed in your device’s Settings.

Deleting a pack removes its content from Snipster on this device and its mirrored stickers from the Messages extension. It does not remove copies you already sent, exported, copied into another app or included in backups.

Settings › Account › Delete account deletes your backend account, authentication tokens, account usage history, and Snipster packs and stickers on this device. A limited anti-abuse record remains: a keyed hash of your device identifier and generation timestamps still within the rolling allowance window. It expires after those generations leave the window, subject to the database’s automatic cleanup. If this device registers again before then, the unexpired usage is carried into the new account. The random device identifier remains in Keychain to enforce this limit. The app automatically creates a new account after deletion so it can continue working.

Account deletion does not cancel an App Store subscription or automatically erase Apple’s or RevenueCat’s purchase records, OpenAI’s retained content, infrastructure logs or backups. Those records follow the relevant provider’s retention rules and applicable legal obligations. Cancel subscriptions in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
